Gourmet Getaway

Flavors of Provence:
A Gourmet Getaway with Chef Sarah Scott
June 20th to June 26th, 2016

We offer an intimate 6 day food and wine extravaganza in Provence which allows you to become fully immersed in the local, relaxed lifestyle of the south of France. Guests will shop for food at markets and prepare meals in cooking class with Sarah. Sarah will teach guests her secret to make the dishes harmonize with the wines, chosen by Jean-Michel Valette, Master of Wine.

Guests arrive on Monday into Avignon, where they are met and brought to Bramefam. After a welcome cocktail and introduction to the week, our dinner prepared by Chef Sarah is served on the terrace.

Each day starts with continental buffet breakfast at home. We go to local farmers’ markets in the mornings on Tuesday (Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux), Thursday (Nyons) and Saturday (Saint-Cécile) to gather produce for meals and for cooking classes. After the markets we visit a local artisan (e.g. goat cheese maker, olive oil mill, wine producer) before we enjoy a leisurely meal at a local restaurant.

Afternoons on these days include a brief cooking class back at home to focus on a single dish, and a local chef prepares and serves the evening meal. Classes are both hands-on preparation and demonstration style, so participants learn many techniques and recipes.

Wednesday and Friday allow for a more relaxed start, with optional yoga and meditation, followed by a hike through our neighborhood for those who wish to join. Our lunches these days will be at home, with a longer cooking class in the afternoon, from 3-6, to prepare that night’s dinner. Each evening of the week starts with optional apéritif at 8, followed by dinner on the terrace, where we watch the sun set and linger under the stars.

Guests depart Sunday morning after buffet breakfast, with transportation back to Avignon.

The price for the getaway includes lodging, all meals, wines, excursions and local transportation from Avignon to Bramefam. Travel to Avignon is not included. Price is $2,800 per person (double occupancy) $3,600 for a single. Maximum six participants.

“Aïoli intoxicates gently, fills the body with warmth, and the soul with enthusiasm. In its essence it concentrates the strength, the gaiety of Provence: sunshine.”
